The NC556 Ethernet to Fiber Converter offers an effortless way to extend Ethernet connections beyond the standard 100-meter limit, which is ideal for larger facilities or multi-building campuses using Tek-CARE® and Tek-ALERT® systems. Fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 standards, the NC556 supports multimode fiber optic cable up to 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) and there are no limiting boundaries for installation. You simply plug in and begin.
With both wall-mount and desktop installation options, the NC556 delivers flexible deployment and guarantees operational transparency to the nurse call system. It’s commonly used to pair central equipment cabinets, connect remote master stations, or integrate a NC475 Appliance Server across longer distances.
UL® 1069 listed for nurse call applications, this converter has a 12 VDC transformer and should be connected to a UPS and life safety circuit. For more effective results, TekTone® recommends installation by a professional technician experienced in fiber connections.
