The TekTone IR312E Dual Patient Station is a device that provides hands-free communication between patients and staff within any type of medical facility. Not only does the TekTone IR312E provide a means of clear communication, it can also be programmed to set patient priority and privacy rights. Communication through the TekTone IR312E is established using call cords or pillow speakers placed in each exam room. An LED bulb will illuminate once a call has been placed giving a patient confirmation that the call has started. When using a pillow speaker, a patient can also use it to control the television. The TekTone IR312E must be used along with the TekTone NC300 nurse call system.

With a height of 4.5 inches, a width of 6.375 inches and a depth of 2.75 inches, the TekTone IR312E projects only .5 inches from the surface that it is attached to. For protection, the station is assembled with a flame resilient plastic shield and encased in Steel City #H3BD and #3GC plaster ring. The 2.5 by 2.5 inch speaker delivers clear voice communication between exam room patients and staff. The TekTone IR312E is the same system as the IR311E except that it includes two pull cords or pillow speakers rather than only one.
