The R5KCONS provides an audio connection to Responder5000 audio stations and other consoles. It is the centralhub for nurse call annunciation. The console is typicallylocated at a nursing station, work station, centralized communication center, or any location where staff receive callsor initiate Responder 5000 functions. The color displayprovides a visual indication of active calls, sorted by priority. Elapsed time for each call is also displayed. Activecalls can be selectively answered by scrolling throughthe list using the keypad for call selection. A call may beanswered with the handset, hands-free speaker, or push-to-talk function.

Programmable functions allow the user to set any levelof service requirement, upgrade a call, set day/nighttone volume, monitor resident rooms, swing coverage toanother console, or a variety of other functions. Thesefunction keys can be color-coded and are selected usingthe scroll keys. Each console can be configured basedon a specific location or clinical function. The console isfully supervised and will also indicate a "Trouble" messagefor other devices within its coverage area if a device isremoved from the system or becomes non-functional.
