The R5KPB4 provides four independent pushbuttons to initiate workflows such as Transport, Cleaning Needed, or Bed Ready. The pushbuttons can also be configured to indicate staff presence for any of the defined staff levels. Workflow and Staff Presence functions can be used simultaneously on the same station. Pushbuttons are customizable for both text and button color. Call Assurance LEDs indicate active calls or active staff presence. Each button can be toggled on/off or the Cancel button can be used to cancel the call or presence. Two 4-button stations can be connected to a single corridor light.

The station is connected to its associated corridor light or dome light controller and is continuously supervised for station presence. A "Trouble" message will also annunciate at the covering console(s) if the station is removed from the system or becomes non-functional.
