  • Rath P40+3DEDGE - Area of Refuge Safety Component for Precision Monitoring

Rath - Avire P40+3DEDGE P40+3D Edge w/Hdwre has reached what is deemed the industry standard in terms of complete elevator door protection. The advanced component set will be used for a high-tech infrared safety curtain over the direct door opening, along with over the landing zone. The P40 Plus incorporates high-density sensor technologies to not only keep elevator doors open when there's something between them, but when a passenger is coming to the elevator door.

This assembly ensures long life performance and will offer the full 3D detection edge family and the metal part(s), for an easy installation and/or retrofit. Especially for any facility that wants to minimize accidents related to slipping or falling when using doors, increase the capacity for moving people and is aiming for a highest standard of vertical transportation safety.

    What It Does

Clinically designed to help keep passengers safe from impact with the door/chassis, the P40+3DEDGE helps passengers get a buffer between doors and body throughout the day. Uses 2 entirely independent detection systems:

    • Direct Light Curtain: It shoots an array of 40 linear 194 cross beamed infrared lights across the door opening. If the beam is broken the doors will automatically re-open.
    • Combined with 3D Proximity Sensing, the assembly will amplify the range of the infrared radiation detection coverage, extending out into the landing area (around 600mm from the doorway area). This ensures that a signal is transmitted before a person arrives at the elevator door where it will be used to alert the elevator of people who may be closing on him in the direction in which the elevator travels.
    • The elevator is engineered to stop someone strolling down the street (cross traffic) from entering in front of the elevator, and is instant to react to any person on the elevator, saving lives and reducing delays.

    Technical Specs

    • Parts are now in good shape but still require replacement.Good condition parts are still to be replaced.
    • Power consumption: 5VA maximum (with edges fitted in).
    • Detection Height: FULL to 72″ (6′).
    • Beam Density: 40 parallel diodes, with 194 criss-cross beam capacity.
    • Hooded: dust and moisture resistant – IP54.
    • Operating Temperature: 14°F to 149°F (-10°C to 65°C).
    • Products are compliant with codes ASME A17.1, ADA, FCC Class A and CSA listed.
    • Bright Lobby tested with Light Immunity of 100000 lux.

    Key Features & Benefits

    • Improved 3-D detection: offers best possible gap between door and object, detects objects in landing zone and helps prevent door impact during landing.
    • Safe System Failure Recovery: In case of an accident in the system, the controller should not cause the door to close into the passengers.
    • Helps to lower incidents of door damage to prolong the life of the door operator and mechanical hangers.
    • Flexible Fit: Provides center-opening & side-opening door mounting to existing and remodeled vehicles cabs with the slim fit & hardware.
    • Smart Diagnostics: Equipped with a better diagnostics system for enhanced servicing and minor diode damage without a system failure.

    Common Application

If safety and code requirements need to be adhered to, and there is heavy traffic then the Rath Avire P40+3DEDGE is the ideal choice. The most common places where it occurs are:

    • When operating sensitive medical equipment medical devices are required to help protect the workers who are operating them.
    • Staff and patient safety: ensuring patients are properly put on stretchers and everyone is safe around sensitive medical equipment.
    • Railway Resorts - supporting transports and tourism along the railways.
    • Heavy-shopping-bag- and pushchair-carrying humans at public infrastructure 3 – airports, train stations and shopping malls.
    • Retrofitting Projects: Improvement of old elevator systems to meet the latest safety regulations: ASME A17.1.
