    The Model 7A/B/C2111 Smart Pillow Speaker is used only with a Dukane ProCare 2000 patient station (Models 4A3081A, 4A3086A, 4A3181A, 4A3182, 4A3186A, and 4A3187) equipped with a gray 17-pin entertainment connector. 

    The smart pillow speakers provide nurse call, TV, and lighting controls, plus control of the on/off, channel up/down, closed caption functions, and audio level of designated “Smart” RCA (7A2111), Zenith (7B2111), and Philips (7C2111) televisions through a minimum of three conductors. 

    Smart pillow speaker models include an internationally recognized “ i ” button for gaining control of the TV closed-caption function, and for turning the function on and off. In addition, a single button, low voltage, light control is provided on all models to optionally operate either one light fixture or two sequentially, as authorized by Dukane.

    1. Speaker 

    This sensitive speaker provides entertainment audio. 

    Note: Communication between this station and the master takes place through the pillow speaker on stations equipped with a pillow speaker intercom. On stations not equipped with pillow speaker intercom, communication takes place through the station’s speaker/microphone. 

    2. Volume Control 

    Turn counter-clockwise to increase entertainment volume. Turn clockwise to decrease entertainment volume. 

    3. Nurse Call Pushbutton 

    Pressing the nurse call pushbutton places a call to the master station and lights the station call assurance LED, the associated corridor and zone lights, and the associated LED indicator on the master station. The station call assurance LED remains on until the call is answered at the master station or canceled at the patient station. 

    4. Entertainment Option Connector 

    This multi-pin connector plugs into the gray entertainment receptacle on patient stations that have the entertainment option. 

    5. TV Pushbutton 

    This pushbutton is used to turn the TV on and off. 

    6. Up/Down Pushbuttons 

    These pushbuttons operate the controls to change the TV channels up and down. 

    7. “i” Pushbutton 

    The internationally recognized “i” button is used for gaining control of the TV closed-caption function, and for turning the function on and off. 

    8. Ancillary Control 

    This pushbutton can be designated to control other ancillary equipment such as low voltage lighting. This feature requires special wiring
