Rath - Avire 2900-EB Expansion Board is a high capacity and high performance interface circuit board module, which can be used to expand the capacity and function of Rath Avire Emergency communication system. The expansion board has been engineered specifically for the purposes of supporting life safety communications in a professional installation environment, letting the facility manager/installer expand their systems into more zones and install a large variety of interface connections while not changing the building's central control system.

The 2900-EB is designed for industrial applications, and can be used as a critical part of an Area of Refuge / elevator communications system. It's engineered to offer a powerful architecture with the promise of life safety and signal integrity when it comes to an additional point of expansion—particularly for commercial, healthcare and education facilities.

    What It Does

The 2900-EB Expansion board can be used to connect more communication nodes and/or communication interface specialties to the compatible Rath Avire distribution module/command center and offer the additional signal wiring needed.

    • System scalability: Easy scalability to allow further call boxes or handsets to be added to the system as the system grows.
    • The module should offer some Interface logic to aid in appropriate distribution of the signals to a zone, in addition to the allocation of the new zone to an emergency call.
    • Circuit Optimisation – adjusted based on the electrical/signalling load/needs and size of loops and distances to prevent data/signals being lost and/or degraded over the distance.

    Technical Specs

    • Model Number: 2900-EB
    • The board type (Primary board) used to connect the interface with Primary board is called Single or double Panel hole board.Only one or twohole board type (main board) use the interface to be attached to the motherboard.
    • Compatibility: Distribution systems (Rath, Avire and Area of Refuge/Command Center) compatibility.
    • Circuitry – Integrated, solid state technology for super reliable signal processing.
    • Mounting: A standard pcb standoff for easy and solid installation in the centre enclosure or sub-panel.
    • Quick and straightforward integration of systems, clearly defined, on the backplane (Wiring Connection).
    • Source of Operating Voltage: From the power supply of the system/board (usually 24v-28v D.C.).

    Key Features & Benefits

    • Modular Growth: An economically sound option, that allows for a building to be “build-as-you-go” or a life safety building extension, resulting in an economical approach to life safety.
    • Seamless Integration: Focused on being instantly recognised by Rath Avire's central controllers with the need to minimise new zones programming time.
    • Improved reliability components installation and use: Each board is used by improved reliability composition and has anti-heat and electricity interference characteristics, complying with the high requirement of using the board in emergency standby state.
    • Scaling – Helps maintain code compliance (ADA, IBC and NFPA 72) with all extended emergency stations properly connected.
    • Durable Engineering: tested for zero latency: Ensure a signal is sent and received as needed to emergency services with no delay, due to simultaneous emergency calls.

    Common Application

Rath Avire 2900-EB is the facility safety system expansion module of choice for "large" and "complex". Mainly used for:

    • Emergency stations will still be added to new floor and/or wing additions in all large commercial high rise buildings, but will be subject to the MWPS rules and may be watered down.
    • Healthcare Complexes: Increasing Area of Refuge networks in healthcare complexes that will help provide protection for every patient wing and stairwell.
    • University Campuses: Connecting other build/dorm(s) to a security center in the campus.
    • Modernization: Offering different signal lengths for modernization projects, particularly on large size signals for large warehouses or manufacturing plants etc.
