The R5KPS1LCA is a single bed station that provides voice communication to the nurse call system. It also includes a built-in lighting control to interface to a lighting control module. In addition, a separate pushbutton allows for staff to place an emergency call to the assigned console(s). Nurse call audio is provided through the station speaker while entertainment audio is provided through the pillow speaker. The bed station can interface with call cords and entertainment speakers to initiate calls and provide entertainment control.

The bed station is connected to its associated corridor light or domeless controller and is continuously supervised for station presence. If the pillow speaker or call cord is removed from the station, a Cord Outcall is immediately annunciated on the covering console(s). In addition, a "Trouble" message will also annunciate at the covering console(s) if the station is removed from the system or becomes non-functional.
